Housecraft is a small but mighty team.
Two longtime friends and business partners, together we have published countless books, managed complex projects, and seen each other through big life stuff.
Nicole’s first experience in the publishing industry was as Editor-in-Chief of her high school yearbook. Since then she’s worked for major corporate publishers and boutique literary agencies and everything in between. In 2006, Nicole founded Union Park Press, an award-winning regional publisher of beautifully designed (and fun) history and cookbooks. She’s got a dog, three kids, and a fellow. She is a graduate of Grub Street’s Novel Incubator program. When she’s not working on Housecraft projects, she’s hard at work on a couple of novels.

With a background in book publishing and historic preservation, Shelby loves to research a house as much as she loves to wrangle page layouts and organize photo shoots. On the historic preservation side, she has worked for the Boston Preservation Alliance, Historic Boston, Inc., and the Architectural Heritage Foundation. One day (in the early 2010s), she answered a tweet about working for a small press, met Nicole, and accepted the job at Union Park Press. The rest is history.
